Every Effort Counts Can Drive- Thanksgiving Turkey Basket Giveaway 2017
Continue to encourage youth that every effort counts...Youth attending school principal Tuoma & John Moffet School allow youth to conduct a can drive. Each school class has the opportunity to compete to have the most cans collected to win a free pizza party. Congratulations to class 112 for collecting 70 cans. Moffet School donated a total of 269 can goods and pantry items to create 21 baskets for 21 families in need. Cans were collected, sorted and examined by H & S youth. Then turkeys donated by community partners such as Acme market, Fresh Grocer, The Beech Interplex Community Services, The West Philadelphia Tarheels FootBall Team, Mt. Zion UMC and Mt. Carmel Baptist Church added turkeys and distributed to families in need for the Holiday season.
This collaboration project between H & S, John Moffet School was a success! Thank you to Acme market, Fresh Grocer, The Beech Interplex Community Services, The West Philadelphia Tarheels FootBall Team, Mt. Zion UMC and Mt. Carmel Baptist Church for the donations in making this project a success. We were able to feed 21 families this Thanksgiving season. Thank you for your support and We appreciate you!
